pain no one should have to bear

I don't even know the right words to use to talk about this. After the horrific tragedy in Uvalde, I was considering what Seeds can do, and what I can do personally, to best help.

Reflecting on this total systemic failure - which is legislative, needless to say, and as we learn more, also a result of corruption, cowardice and gross ineptitude on a police force that receives 40% of the total budget in that town - not for the first time, I could only conclude one thing.

Which is that those old systems have to crumble to the ground.

They're allegedly meant to serve. They're ushering in waves of horror instead. A prioritization of self-interest above all is a root cause.

Seeds is not about perpetuating self-interest at the exclusion of all else. Unlike the legacy economic system, it is not founded upon the idea that self-interest is the exclusive reason people act.

This fortified my belief that our energies are best spent growing new and kinder ecosystems like Seeds, to supplant the old ones as they inevitably collapse.

If you haven't yet staked, it's integral to what allows our community to serve people in need around the world, and we offer a generous bonus to those who do. The deadline for the May reward is on the 31st, 3 days from now.

If you're not a giver, please consider helping people in need. When you do, you'll receive SEEDS in thanks. It's typically even more beneficial to give when the crypto market is down, like now.

This is because 1) you'll receive even more SEEDS for the same gift size, which can make a big difference when and if they go back up in market value and 2) those caught in fear and scarcity energy (and we've all been there) tend to give less through Seeds when the crypto market is down, so there's an even greater need.

If you're not in a financial position to contribute, sharing about Seeds and our community's aims with others is invaluable.

May something kinder grow through the wreckage of all this.
